Information Collection and Use
Cedar Valley Church Online is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Cedar Valley Church Online collects information from it’s users at several different points on it’s website.
Message Board
Registration is not required to post to the message board, you may post anonymously. If posting anonymously, do so by simply not entering a username and password when prompted. If you wish to, you may register so you will have your own profile for posting to the board. This helps keep others from posting as you. Registration is free, and you are not required to post your real name, you can use a nick that you commonly use on the net if you want. You are required to post your actual email address, however it will only be used to email you a new password if you have forgotten yours. You also have the option to hide you email address from everyone except the administrator, this option is selected by default but you can allow others to see your email address by selecting the ‘Allow other users to view my email address’ checkbox on the registration form.
Guest Book
This is a totally optional registry. This is not a service. We will not add you to any mailing list. We may e-mail you thanking you for signing. Enter only what you want in the book.
Prayer Request
We request information from the user on our prayer request form. Here a user must provide the name of the person in need of prayer. All other information is optional.
Counter
We use a CGI counter to analyze how many people are hitting our site. Our counter also collects IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. Our counter tells info on your system (Win/Mac | Netscape/IE), it does NOT tell any personal information that would let us know who you are.

This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, Cedar Valley Church Online, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site. We do require your name, e-mail address and site URL if you would like for us to add a link to your site from our Christian Links Page. This information is used to contact you about your link only. We will not disclose this information.
Site updates notification
Users who choose to be notified by e-mail of site updates must give an e-mail address for the notification to be sent. This information will only be used to send e-mail notifications to those who request it. Users can subscribe and un-subscribe as they wish, they are not permanently added to the notification list.
Internet Greeting Cards
Users who elect to send an internet greeting card from our site are required to give their name and e-mail address and the name and e-mail address of the recipient of the card. This information must be correct for the recipient to receive the card. Cedar Valley Church Online stores this information for the sole purpose of sending the greeting card.
Site Announcer
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend’s name and e-mail address. Cedar Valley Church Online will automatically send the friend a one-time e-mail inviting them to visit the site. Cedar Valley Church Online stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time e-mail. The friend may contact Cedar Valley Church Online at Abuse if they are being spammed by a user of this service. We can ban IP’s from using the Site Announcer.
Security
This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. All of our info is password protected. We will not tell much info about how we are secure, because it might be helpful to a malicious person.

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Web Site News so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an e-mail. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
